‘L is for Love’ forms part of a set of bold and colourful silkscreen prints produced in 1991, one for each letter of the alphabet. Each print adopts Peter Blake’s typical and unmissable style of working, incorporating ‘found’ imagery from magazines, postcards and popular ephemera. In this print Peter Blake symbolises love in a pair of early 20th century loves in which continues Blake’s fascination with early photography and idealised bygone golden era. ‘L is for Love’ is signed and numbered by the artist.
