A fantastic value for money, completely ready to drink Saint Emilion Grand Cru, that will blow you away. Nose Vanilla nose with hints of toasted brioche. This wine has silky texture, jammy raspberries, licorice, coffee and citrus flavours. The wine ends with a supple, fresh cherry griotte finish. This wine is made from 40 years old vines, harvest is done by hand allowing selection of the healthiest and ripest grapes. It was aged for 14 months in French oak barrels. Enjoy with roasted chicken, grilled meat and hard cheeses. 85% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc. The vineyard that today forms Chateau Edmus was aquired by Philip Edmundson and Eric Remus in 2007. In a single holding of 5.8 hectares, due to it slope, the estate offers a variety of soils of altering sand and gravels. The vines are on average 35 years old. The region's illustrious history dates back to the middle age but today Philip and Eric are taking every step to restore this exceptional terroir to its historic heights with the assistance of Stephane Derenoncourt. They have implemented in depth work on the vines, yield limitation, selection of the best plots and ageing in mostly new French oak barrels with the intention of producing a superior value.
