The Coconut originally came from Malaysia and is the fruit of the coconut tree, belonging to the palm tree family. The coconut tree is also called the tree of life and grows in coastal areas living for about 100 years. The word Coco comes from a Portuguese word meaning monkey. Coconut is used in a number of cocktails and exotic dishes.
