The large scaled 1995 Certan de May is an enormously rich, massive, opaque purple colored wine with outstanding purity, a ferocious tannin level, and fabulous extraction of fruit as well as ripeness. Having just had the 1989 and 1990 Certan de Mays, the 1995 may outdistance the quality of both those fine efforts. It could develop into the best wine made at this estate since the monumental 1982. However, do not expect to find a great deal of pleasure in it until it has had a decade's worth of cellaring it is that big, backward, and brawny. Impressive! Robert Parker The Wine Advocate
