‘K is for King’ forms part of a set of bold and colourful silkscreen prints produced in 1991, one for each letter of the alphabet. Each print adopts Peter Blake’s typical and unmissable style of working, incorporating ‘found’ imagery from magazines, postcards and popular ephemera. This sentimental and tender piece comprises of a collection of antique valentine cards set against a delicate dusky pink – appearing fragile against the bold composition of the other alphabet letters. ‘V is for Valentine’ is signed and numbered by the artist.
