This is one of twenty paintings by Claude Monet of the river Seine near his house in Giverny France. Monet would get up at 3.30 in the morning and go out to a boat he had on the river where he would paint on multiple canvases simultaneously trying to capture the early morning light and the reflections in the river. This painting has the ethereal trees reflection in the still river with the cool purple and green colours of early morning.
