‘Stripper’ features an image of a topless woman, her arms seductively placed behind her hair and the addition of large feathered wings behind her as well as being stood in a giant Top Hat. The woman’s knickers are gorgeously gold leafed which stand out against the blue colourings of her body and the simplistic white back drop. Not Now Nancy’s works explore the relation between fragility of nature and outmoded times and the brutality of urban living and combines illustration and modern iconic imagery. ‘Stripper’ and another one of Not Now Nancy’s Limited Edition prints ‘Dandy’ make a rather gorgeous pair both with the gold leaf finishing and identical colour themes.
