Vines grow close to the coast in this unspoilt area, with vineyards enjoying cool Atlantic breezes, which help slow down the ripening process and produce classically elegant wines. The Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes for this wine were both grown in unirrigated trellised vineyards overlooking the sea in the region’s granite rich red oakleaf soil. Winemaker Charl du Plessis had the grapes harvested early in the morning to ensure all their fresh berry notes were retained.
