‘Q is for Quarters’ forms part of a set of bold and colourful silkscreen prints produced in 1991, one for each letter of the alphabet. Each print adopts Peter Blake’s typical and unmissable style of working, incorporating ‘found’ imagery from magazines, postcards and popular ephemera. In this piece we see Peter Blake revert to his iconic pop art simplicity and boldness, dividing the paper into quarters of bright block colour. ‘Q is for Quarters’ is signed and numbered by the artist.
