This is a giclee limited edition reproduction of a 1938 Watercolour on paper . The Paddle Steamer ‘Britannia’ which Ravilious misspells here as ‘Brittania’ worked the route from the Devon port of Ilfracombe to Weston super Mare and still holds the Bristol Channel speed record of 1 hour 56 minutes for a journey by paddle steamer between these ports. nbspIt was sketched by Ravilious during a trip to Bristol with John Nash.
