The Siemens optiPoint 420 familyAll telephones in the Siemens optiPoint 420 family are equipped for VoIP telephony with standard voice codecs and QoS mechanisms. High voice quality on the telephone is provided by using the G.722 wideband voice codec. Power can be supplied either locally or via Power over Ethernet PoE in accordance with the IEEE 802.3af standard. Open hardware and software platforms enable future capabilities and features such as the SIP VoIP protocol. All models support Computer Telephony Integration CTI.The Siemens optiPoint 420 Economy Plus model has the same features as the entry level optiPoint 420 Economy model swiveling display, 12 function keys, 3 dialog keys etc. In addition, this model enables a PC to be connected to the LAN via the integrated 10100 Base T mini switch, so that there is just one LAN cable leading to the desk one wire to the desk. A connection for earpieces and headsets is also provided, making this the ideal product for workstations subject to a high volume of telephone calls.
