This light bodied Pinot delivers fragrant red fruit on the nose with a classic palate of raspberry and red cherry and well integrated oak. This wine is bright ruby red with purple highlights. The elegant nose displays fresh raspberries and cherries with subtle touches of smoke and tobacco. The friendly, well balanced palate has a crisp quality that recalls baked apples, blueberries, and cherries, all complemented by toasted smoky notes from the oak aging. The grapes were hand picked in March and taken to the cellar in small 14 kg 31 lb boxes where they were sorted, gently destemmed, and deposited into stainless steel tanks. A 57 day cold soak at 68C43 46F followed to enhance fruit intensity and spicy notes. Alcoholic fermentation was carried out at 26 30C79 86F, followed by a post fermentation maceration for 20 days of additional skin contact. The wine was aged for eight months in French oak barrels. .
