Extra ageing has calmed the impact of the phenols, with the peat arriving on the palate late, and tempered by smooth oak. A very mellow, mature Islay malt. Tasting Notes from The Distiller's Colour. Pale Straw. Taste. The taste starts a little sweeter than the 12 year old. Very pleasant, light flavoured smokiness. A complex balance of primary tastes. Finish. Sweet smokey, lingering finish.
