‘Self Portrait’ by Tamara de Lempicka captures the Art Deco love of new machine technology and the styles ability to capture a sense of movement and glamour. The composition of this piece is believed to have been inspired by a cover photo of the weekly ’Vu’ magazine published on October 3rd, 1928. The green Bugatti in this famous Self portrait was, in fact, yellow Renault, if the recollections of her daughter are to be believed.
