Digital artist Carl Moore produces an aesthetic like no other revelling in the uncanny, Moore’s animal prints are an exercise in contemporary surreality, achieved to extraordinary success. Merging the playful with the tragic, the absurd with the endearing, Moore produces highly graphic images, bold in their colour and compositional technique. ‘Pandaflorian’ depicts the face of a panda, contained within a kaleidoscopic circle of colourful, hypnotic pattens. Using a digital process, Moore has allowed the panda’s face to run, as though drips of fresh paint are working their way across the canvas. Strange and surreal, while visually powerful, ‘Pandaflorian’ is a compelling piece of contemporary print work.
