The wine spends only a year in barrel, resulting in a well balanced wine with an exotic touch. The term clos, meaning a small walled vineyard, is more commonly used in Burgundy and the approach to terroir at Clos Le Comte could quite easily be described as Burgundian. The vineyard was first planted in 1929 and average age of the vines is in excess of 50 years old. Jean Michel Le Comte made his first vintage in 2000. 90% Merlot, 10% Carbernet Sauvignon.
