Pale golden in colour. Ripe fruit blended with oak, a round and creamy flavour with a nutty, toffee finish. A rich, complex and well balanced wine that will age well for up to 10 years from vintage. Serve chilled to accompany foie gras, lobster, fish and chicken in a cream sauce. Pouilly Fuisse is an important wine appellation in the Maconnais district of Burgundy. This appellation is restricted to the Chardonnay grape. The richest wines are said to come from Fuisse and Solutre. There is no concept of Premier Cru vineyards in this appellation, but Pouilly Fuisse may be followed by the name of a specific vineyard. Domaine Ferrand is situated in the village Solutre Pouilly in the heart of the Pouilly Fuisse appellation of southern Burgundy. The domaine now comprises of just over 11 hectares of vineyards that have been passed down from father to son over three generations. Today the domaine is run by Madame Nadine Ferrand whose wines have been well reviewed by the Guide Hachette.
